His father followed him there and raised him alone on rocks and insects for decades. When the boy became hard to control, Paragus fitted him with a collar that shocked him. That is how his own father kept him in line. The fur he wears is the ear of the only friend he ever made out there, a creature Paragus mutilated to stop the two of them being close. He is the strongest Saiyan ever shown and he never wanted to fight anybody. He only ever asked to be left alone.
